WHO IS NORTHWOODS?
Northwoods is a technology company truly focused on human services. We provide useful, usable, and lovable software solutions that help caseworkers gather information, make sense of it, and use it to help others. Our technology is designed for state and county adult & aging, child support, child welfare, and economic assistance agencies.
OVERVIEW
Unfortunately, due to privacy reasons, I can't show the bulk of my work that I did at Northwoods for their Traverse Product, so for now, I hope that you’ll believe that I did quite a lot during the nearly 2 years I worked there. I was a Product Designer on the Product Design team, leading design on multiple internal products, primarily focused on task sharing and working with outside entities. Here are some brief notes about the work I did during this time —
TASK SHARING
Implemented a new model that empowers workers to own and create tasks in order to organize their workload.
Introduced new methods of internal task sharing and communication.
Scaled the initial feature to allow workers to see tasks belonging to others, see all changes made in a task, and filter tasks to what the worker needs to immediately see.
measured through data insights and user feedback.
Designed an experience that utilized existing features that would alert a worker when changes made by an outside entity would occur.
Scaled the initial solution to include limiting options to an outside entity at the discretion of the worker, knowing what was touched specifically by an outside entity, and allowing an outside entity to originate items.
WORKING WITH OUTSIDE ENTITIES
Successfully built solutions that helped Social Workers spend less time traveling to complete paperwork. Success was
